Attorney

The ``child's preference`` is recognized by the State of Tennessee as twelve (12) years old regarding the child's preference to which parent he/she wants to reside with. However, this is only one of the deciding factors. A judge may take the child's preference into consideration, but that does not necessarily mean that a judge will change custody and/or living arrangements based solely on the child's preference. However, the older a child is, the more his/her preference is weighed by a judge.

Attorney

Attorneys possess the knowledge necessary to handle specific types of law. An Attorney is capable of handling your case with efficiency as well as giving you the best representation possible. You will need an Attorney in several different scenarios: if you have been criminally charged, if you are in a child custody battle, if you are getting a divorce, if you are having a Will, Power of Attorney and/or Deed prepared, and if you are attempting to sue another person. It is better to have an Attorney and not need one than to need an Attorney and not have one.
